Email support for Black Screen Video — how to report a download or playback problem, ask about licensing, or request a spec we do not carry yet.

Black Screen Video is run by forpix, an independent developer, as a personal project rather than a company. There is no ticket system and no live chat — one person reads every message, and email is the only channel:

General questions get a reply within 1–2 business days. Formal privacy requests follow the longer statutory window set out in the Privacy Policy.

Check these first

Most questions are already answered in writing, and reading the page beats waiting a day for a reply:

  • How the site works and how it is funded — the About page.
  • Whether you may use a file commercially — the licence grant and its limits are in the Terms of Service.
  • What is collected and how to opt out of personalised ads — the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
  • Which resolution, length or container to pick — each option has its own page with player notes: 1080p, 4K, MP4, 1 hour, 5 minutes.
  • Short, common questions — the FAQ near the bottom of the homepage.

What to send, by type of question

Download problems. Files come from object storage through a small proxy that checks the request came from this site and applies basic rate limiting, so a download that never starts is often a stripped referrer, a privacy extension, a corporate proxy, or a rate-limited shared VPN exit. Tell us the page, the resolution/duration/format selected, and whether the browser showed an error or did nothing.

Playback problems. Name the player, not just the browser — the same file can open in VLC and fail in a built-in preview app. If it plays but behaves oddly (a frozen first frame, a scrub bar that will not move), say so: with an all-black image those symptoms are easy to misread.

Format and compatibility. MP4 and MOV here carry the same H.264 stream in different containers, so if one imports and the other does not, the container is the variable, not the encode — say which of the two you tried. WebM uses VP9 and is the one most often refused by older editing software. If an application rejects a file, give its name and version.

A file size that looks wrong. The size beside the download button is read from the same table that produced the files, so a download much smaller or larger than that figure is a real defect — send the page URL, the size shown and the size you got.

Licensing and commercial use. Read the Terms first; the grant is broad and the restrictions narrow. If your case is genuinely not covered — bundling files into a product you distribute, say — describe it in a sentence or two. We can explain our own licence, not give legal advice.

Requests for something we do not carry. New resolutions, durations, frame rates or containers are all fair to ask for. Give the exact specification and what you need it for — a concrete use case often reveals that an existing file already does the job.

Privacy, cookie and data requests. Access, correction, deletion, objection, consent withdrawal, and the rights available under the GDPR, the CCPA and the PIPL are set out, with their limits, in the Privacy Policy. Send those to the same address, saying which right you are exercising and under which region's rules.

Corrections. If a specification, a file-size figure or a technical claim anywhere on the site is wrong, name the page and the sentence.

Copy this, fill it in, send it — a report in this shape is usually answered in one round trip instead of three.

Nothing here is for sale — no accounts, no checkout, no subscription — so there are no billing, refund or account questions to handle. If you receive a message about a payment or a login supposedly from this site, it did not come from us. Nor can we edit video on request, recover files you deleted, or act on complaints about other sites hosting black screen videos.
