Privacy Policy

How Black Screen Video collects, uses, and shares information, including cookies, analytics, and advertising

2026/09/12

Last updated: 12 September 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Black Screen Video ("we", "us", or "our"), the site published at blackscreenvideo.com (the "Service"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you. Black Screen Video is operated by forpix, an independent individual operator.

The Service requires no account and is free to use. It is funded by advertising, so this policy sets out in detail what our advertising and analytics partners collect and how you can control it.

By using our website, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Data Controller

The controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy is:

  • Operator: forpix, the individual who runs blackscreenvideo.com. This is a personal project, not a company.
  • Contact: support@blackscreenvideo.com

For the advertising and analytics cookies described below, Google and its advertising partners determine their own purposes for the data they collect and act as independent controllers of it; see "Your Rights" below.

No Account Required

The Service does not use accounts, sign-in, or payment of any kind. There is no checkout, no donation link, and nothing to buy. We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials to let you download files.

Information We Collect Automatically

We never ask you to submit information. Everything below is collected automatically when a page loads.

  • Analytics data (Google Analytics 4): pages viewed, time on page, referring site, device type, browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address at country or region level. GA4 sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. Google may process this data on servers outside your country. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • Advertising data (Google AdSense): cookies, device and browser information, approximate location, and ad interaction data, used by Google and its partners to select, deliver, cap, and measure ads. This is described in full in the Advertising section below.
  • Server and CDN logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) and our file delivery provider (Cloudflare) record standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp — to deliver files, secure the Service, and detect abuse.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or any account credential.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Deliver black screen video files and keep the site working
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse of the download service
  • Measure traffic and improve our pages and content
  • Select, deliver, and measure advertising, which is what keeps the Service free

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: consent for advertising and analytics cookies; legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the Service, for server and CDN logs; and legal obligation for the retention of historical order records described below.

Advertising

Advertising is what pays for the bandwidth that keeps every file on this site free to download. Ads are shown in a single area, clearly labelled "Advertisement", that appears after you start a download. The video files you download contain no advertising of any kind — they are plain, unbranded video files that play the same way offline as online.

Third-party vendors and cookies

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies — including cookies served from the google.com and doubleclick.net domains, historically described as the DoubleClick DART cookie — enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

Ads may also be supplied by third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google that buy inventory through the Google ad exchange. Those vendors may set their own cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to select, frequency-cap, measure, and personalise the ads you are shown. We do not control those technologies, and we do not receive the data they collect.

A complete, current list of the cookies Google uses for advertising is published at business.safety.google/adscookies.

Opting out of personalised advertising

You can turn off or limit personalised advertising at any time:

  • Google: Google Ad Settings / My Ad Center
  • Vendors in the United States: aboutads.info/choices and youradchoices.com
  • Vendors in Europe: youronlinechoices.eu
  • Your browser: block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or browse in a private window

Opting out does not remove ads. It means the ads you see are no longer selected on the basis of your interests or browsing history.

Consent in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Where the law requires your consent before cookies are stored on or read from your device, we obtain that consent through a Google-certified Consent Management Platform, delivered by the Privacy and messaging service in Google AdSense, in accordance with Google's EU User Consent Policy. The consent message lets you accept all, reject all, or choose individual purposes and vendors before any advertising or analytics cookie is set, and your choices are recorded and passed to Google and its advertising partners.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the privacy settings control offered by that consent message, or by clearing this site's cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent stops further processing that relies on it; it does not affect processing that already took place.

Visitors outside these regions are not shown a consent message. Advertising may be personalised by default for those visitors, subject to the opt-out controls listed above.

We do not send personal information to advertisers

We do not pass personally identifiable information to Google or to any advertising partner. Page URLs on this site never carry personal data, and we do not transmit names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other identifier that could be used to recognise you personally in an ad request or in data sent to advertising or analytics tags. Because the Service has no accounts and no sign-in, we do not hold such identifiers in the first place.

Precise location data

We do not request access to your precise location. The Service never calls your browser's Geolocation API and never asks for GPS permission. Google, our hosting provider, and our CDN infer an approximate location — normally country or region — from your IP address, in order to select an appropriate ad, apply the correct legal requirements, and route traffic efficiently.

Historical Order Records

Earlier versions of this Service used a one-time paid Pro tier, processed through a third-party payment provider. That system has been retired and all content is now free for everyone. We retain historical order records (email address, order details, purchase date) associated with past transactions for accounting and audit purposes. We no longer collect new order data, and no purchase-related emails are sent.

Data Storage and Security

  • Database: Historical order records are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database (Neon) with encryption at rest. No new records are written to it.
  • File Storage: Video files are stored on Cloudflare R2 and served via a Cloudflare Worker. All files are freely accessible without authentication.
  • Security: We implement industry-standard security measures to protect stored data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services only as necessary to provide our services:

Third-party images in our footer

Our footer displays listing badges hosted by four directories that feature this site: startupfa.st, firstlook.tools, deeplaunch.io, and gets.tools. Because those images are loaded from the directories' own servers, your IP address, browser type, and the address of the page you are viewing are visible to them whenever a page on this site loads. They set no cookies on this site, and we receive no data back from them.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. See "California Privacy Rights" below for how United States privacy law treats advertising cookies.

Cookies and Local Storage

We set one functional cookie of our own. Everything else is set by Google.

  • NEXT_LOCALE (ours, functional): written only when you pick a language in the language switcher. It has no expiry date configured, so it is a session cookie and is cleared when you close your browser.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*): distinguish visitors and maintain session state.
  • Google advertising cookies: set by Google and its partners to select, cap, and measure ads, and to record your consent choices where a consent message is shown.
  • Local storage: the key theme stores your light/dark appearance preference in your browser. It is never sent to our servers or to any third party.

We use no account, sign-in, session, or social media tracking cookies — the Service has no login.

The full cookie inventory, with names, providers, and lifetimes, is in our Cookie Policy.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Delete your data
  • Object to or restrict our processing, including processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent you previously gave for advertising or analytics cookies, at any time
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Because the Service has no accounts, the only personal data we hold that is directly linked to an identifiable person is the historical order records described above. Data held by Google in connection with cookies is controlled by Google; you can exercise your rights over it directly with Google through Google's Privacy Policy and My Ad Center.

To exercise any of these rights, write to support@blackscreenvideo.com. We reply within 30 days.

California Privacy Rights

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never have.

California law treats the use of advertising cookies to deliver personalised ads as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. If you are a California resident and want to stop that sharing, you can:

  • turn off ad personalisation in Google Ad Settings / My Ad Center;
  • opt out through aboutads.info/choices; or
  • block or delete advertising cookies in your browser.

California residents also have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. Send requests to support@blackscreenvideo.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Rights Under the Personal Information Protection Law

If you are in mainland China, the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) may give you the following rights over the personal information we handle:

  • Be informed of how your personal information is handled, and to have the rules we apply explained to you
  • Access and obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct or supplement information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Delete your personal information, including where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for
  • Withdraw consent you previously gave, at any time, without affecting handling that already took place
  • Restrict or refuse our handling of your personal information
  • Have your information transferred to another personal information handler you designate, where the conditions set by the regulator are met

Close relatives of a deceased person may exercise these rights over that person's information for their own lawful and legitimate interests.

The Service has no accounts, so there is no account for you to close or deregister, and no profile for us to delete. The only personal information directly linked to an identifiable person that we hold is the historical order records described above. Personal information collected through Google's advertising and analytics cookies is handled by Google under its own policies, and you exercise your rights over it with Google directly through Google's Privacy Policy and My Ad Center.

To exercise any of these rights, write to support@blackscreenvideo.com, using the same process and reply time described under "Your Rights" above.

Children's Privacy

The Service is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under the age of 13, or under the equivalent minimum age in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, we do not treat any page on this site as child-directed content, and we do not knowingly allow personalised advertising to be served to children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to support@blackscreenvideo.com and we will delete it promptly.

International Data Transfers

The Service is delivered from servers worldwide through Vercel and Cloudflare, and Google processes analytics and advertising data on its own global infrastructure. Your data may therefore be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where such transfers are made from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, our providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.

We run no servers of our own: hosting, file delivery, analytics, and advertising all sit with the providers listed above. The operator's own access is limited to signing in to those providers' consoles and to the historical order database. You can ask what is held about you at support@blackscreenvideo.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
